We are planning on the meetups at the Tybout House for the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month at 1pm. Come to one or all or join us via Facebook Live. They should be about an hour get together with a 30-minute live session at the beginning.

Winter Class Closing Policy: We will call or text you one hour before the start of a class if we plan to cancel. Please use your own discretion about driving. If we cancel we will reschedule the class so that you do not loose your class fee.


Participate in one or both Knit Along  

From:   1:00 – 3:00 on Adult Fiber Frolic Saturdays
There will be a $10 fee for printed pattern.

Winter Fiber Frolic Kit of the Month Club

Additional monthly kits can be obtained for a one-time price of $25 for three more kits with a new project each time.

If you enjoyed the felting project or the wool applique you could get three additional kits for the next 3 months for $25 or $50 for both. Just indicate which craft kits you want or both. It will be ready for you to pick up at the Tybout House on the first of each month.


PRE-WINTER FIBER FROLIC REFRESHER FOR
KNITTING & CROCHET
We have had several people stop in the shop and say they have not knit or crocheted in a while and needed a little refresher class. So here it is!

Sun., Jan. 16 – 2:00-3:30       Knitting Refresher – We will review how to cast-on, knit, purl and bind-off.

Sun., Jan.16 – 4:00-5:30       Crochet Refresher – Student will review the chain foundation stitch, and the single, double, half double & the treble stitches.


YARN DYEING WITH KOOL AID OR FOOD COLORING
Jan. 21, 2022, 5:30 to 7:30       FEE:  $10 plus the cost of yarn you select
Spend Friday evening with us at the Tybout House learning how to dye yarn. The shop has “bare” yarn that can be purchased to dye whatever color you want in an inexpensive way.


MITTENS, MITTENS, MITTENS!!!

 *For the knitter who can already knit, purl, increase and decrease

Jan. 29 & Feb. 5, 2022, 2:00 to 4:00                       FEE:  $10
SIMPLE BASIC MITTEN           
Whenever I ask my daughter what the grandchildren need that I can make them she always tells me MITTENS! In this class you will learn how to make a quick and easy mitten that can be repeated in many colors. You can provide your little ones and the “big” ones with a box full of mittens to last through the winter.
Materials Needed:  One skein of worsted weight yarn and size US#7 Double Points

Feb. 18 (4:00 to 6:00) & Feb. 19 (2:00 to 4:00)    FEE:  $10
STRANDED SNOWFLAKE MITTEN Stranded knitting is comprised of two or more yarns worked within the same row to create color patterns. As one yarn is knitted, the other yarn waits its turn to be used, stranding along the back of the work.
Materials Needed:  two skeins dk weight (2 Contrasting Colors) Needles: DPNs US size 2/2.75mm & US size 3/3.25mm  

Cute Acrylic Penquin

January 22, 2021
Time: 3:30 to 5:30
Instructor: Kelly Hunt
Fee: $35 including all supplies
Have fun with this winter penguin painted on at 10X10canvas using acrylic paint. Yo will receive step-by-step instructions. You will be able to personalize your project any way you want. Stencils will be provided as well. Come on out and paint this cute winter penguin.


Fiber Frolic for Kids (Ages 9-13)
*Second Saturday of the Month (Jan. to Apr.)
2:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Fee:  Single Session:  $8         All 4 Sessions:  $25

This fiber frolic will expose you to the beginning steps for crochet, knitting, felting and punch needle. Each class will end with a completed project or the ability to complete it on your own. Parents are welcome to join in the fun if they want.

Jan 8                     Beaded Chain Stitch Necklace – crochet project
In this activity participants will learn how to do the chain stitch which is the foundation of every project. To give this project some pizzazz beads will be added for a touch of glitz.

Feb. 12                Marble Fidget Bracelet – knitting project
This activity will be created by knitting an I-cord and inserting a marble. This can be added to all the fidget gadgets that you have in your collection.

March 12            Saint Patrick’s Day Pin – needle felting project
This will be a practice in needle felting. Students will learn the basics of needle felting while making a shamrock pin using a cookie cutter to make the shape.

April 9                  Punch Needle Project|
Punch needle embroidery, a member of the rug hooking family, is often referred to as painting with thread. With embroidery, your embroidery needle and floss penetrate the fabric in a variety of shapes and textures. With punch needle, your tool pierces the fabric on one side and leaves a loop on the other.


Fiber Frolic for Adults
*Fourth Saturday of the month from (Jan. to Apr.)
10:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Class Fee per session:    $35 including kits       Lunch:  $5.00

Spend the day with us at the Tybout House and frolic with fiber. Each month the day will begin at 10:00 AM with a time for project help and socialization. Each session will have an activity. Lunch will be available for $5.00, pay when you arrive. From 1:00 to 3:00 participants may participate in a Knit Along of their choice. (See description of KAL above.)

January 22 – Hearts, Hearts, Hearts

February 26 – Bringing in the Green
Spinning – Drop Spindle 
Kit Includes:  drop spindle & 1 oz. roving

March 26 – Easter Eggs for the Basket

April 23 – Blocking Projects Demonstration
Finishing Technique – Blocking

WOULD YOU LIKE TO TEACH THE CRAFT YOU ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT TO OTHERS?
We are looking for people who would be interested in teaching classes that are fiber or craft related.  Instructors would have the use of our classroom, tables and chairs.  If we have the materials available that you plan to use in the Tybout House inventory, we will give the members of the class a 10% discount during the class time.
